Spiked Snowmelt : Craft Hard Seltzer

Spiked Snowmelt is a light and easy drinking craft hard seltzer made by Upslope Brewing Company in Boulder, Colorado. Each can of Spiked Snowmelt weighs in at 5% ABV and is 100 calories with only 2g of carbs and 2g of sugars. Gluten free and lightly flavored using only natural ingredients, it provides the perfect companion for health conscious drinkers living the active outdoor lifestyle.

I designed the packaging for this new craft hard seltzer in 2019. Upslope was one of the first independent breweries to put a seltzer on the scene in Colorado, and since then it's become a fan favorite.

Since we needed a way to visually associate this brand new product with the original beer brand family, the interwoven line work on each Snowmelt can is the exact shape of Upslope's original shield logo - outlined and repeated in the spirit of a snowflake.

The Snowmelt logo is representative of flowing spring water runoff from the snowy caps of the Rocky Mountains — fresh, clean and clear. The dots coming off the letters echo the carbonation resulting from the nature of the beverage as a seltzer water. I used a tall, thin typeface to help re-enforce the fact that this beverage is light bodied and low in calories.
